OCD (obsessive-compulsive disorder) And Celebrities

Nowadays, most humans have some type of health issue. Some are related to physiological health, and some are related to mental health. There are several mental problems like Alzheimer’s, depression, dementia, Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder (OCD), Disorders related to symmetry, etc that have become all too normal in today’s society. In dementia, people often forget the essential things. People with depression tend to avoid activities and necessary tasks. These mental issues can make a massive impact on one’s life, and often have trouble maintaining a normal lifestyle.

The brain controls all other body functions and rational thought. If the brain is sick, our body cannot function as it should. Mental illness disrupts daily activities, as the brain is in somewhat of a constant fog. Most doctors prescribe medication to help with the brain fog, but it only covers up the symptoms. There is no cure for mental problems like dementia, OCD, or depression. The most effective course of action for dealing with mental illness is an aggressive treatment plan. Mental illness has no prejudices and can affect anybody. Even Celebrities can suffer from this problem. Below we mention the names of some world-known celebrities who have suffered from mental illness.

David Beckham admitted that he has OCD (Obsessive Compulsive Disorder) in a BBC interview. He spoke about it in detail. He said that he had a habit of doing everything in an even manner. This kind of OCD is known as symmetry. In symmetry, people often suffer in making decisions. Suppose you have an OCD of symmetry and you have a pair of shoes. If you see a subtle difference between those two shoes, you will refuse to wear them. Until you find two precisely similar shoes, you will not wear them.

There are other symptoms of this mental disorder. If someone gives a list of numerical digits to a symmetry-related OCD patient, he will never choose an odd numerical digit. Meanwhile, he will always select even numbers. The other crucial symptom of an OCD symmetry patient is, he always wants everything in the proper place at the appropriate time.
