TEEN HOUSING

Los Angeles, California
Key Housing is a structured, transitional aftercare program for teen boys, ages 14-17, who have completed wilderness or primary treatment. The program allows for the freedom and warmth of their home environment while providing accountability and support for teens to implement the skills they’ve learned into their daily lives.
As part of our weekly curriculum, each resident of our house attends school, one therapy session per week, is paired with a mentor who meets with them weekly, attends life skills groups, recovery meetings (as applicable), cooks dinner with their house, participates in giving back to their community, and in activities ranging from surfing to art museums.
WHO ARE OUR CLIENTS

14-17 year old males who have completed residential treatment or wilderness programs and struggle with substance use, behavioral, mental health, or failure to launch issues.

The teen who has struggled in school and has a hard time being honest. Has strained family relationships and lost motivation to do daily living activities.

The teen who is struggling with his focus and drive. Who has the potential but needs to cultivate life-skills in practical situations to help them successfully launch into and navigate the next chapter of their development.

The teen who is ‘lost’. Doesn’t have any true direction in life and bases decisions on impulse. Struggles with anxiety/depression and lacks the life skills to develop a sense of purpose.

Our kids have overcome anxiety, depression, anger, failure to launch and substance use issues. They leave our program equipped with the tools to live fulfilling, healthy lives.

Parent Coaching & Therapeutic Support

We understand the value of the family system and how much a child’s struggle can impact everyone involved who cares about the child. We provide weekly parent coaching with a licensed clinician to assist families in tackling everyday challenges with their child.

In providing the highest level of support to parents during this transitional phase, we provide weekly update calls with our team to keep parents abreast of their child’s activities and growth.

While children are off learning new lifeskills, parents are researching and learning how they can grow by consulting experts.
SOCIAL AND RECREATIONAL ACTIVITIES
Key Housing includes weekly social and recreational activities for our residents based on each client’s personal goals and interests, with the emphasis on learning how to have healthy, authentic fun. This enables clients to identify healthy outlets for their energy and develop interests to pursue during their free time. We want our clients to learn how to enjoy themselves with the new skills they’ve developed in our program.
